Healthy Food from Healthy Animals     

University of Nottingham, 24-25 April 2012

There is much debate about the healthiness of foods that animals provide  especially dairy products and red meat but it is crucial that public health policy is based on up-to-date factual data.  Whilst any limitations in the value of animal-derived foods must be recognized so must the opportunities that exist to maximize both production and the qualities of the food to positively help human health.

This conference will enable delegates to debate the issues and challenges associated with producing food from healthy animals that is healthy for consumers, economically sustainable and from systems that benefit the environment and encompasses good welfare and ethics. This conference draw together up-to-date knowledge and will thus be relevant to commercial and research scientists, those working in the agricultural and food industry, advisors, vets, farmers and policy makers.  Further information
